Doors still open for those who left the party – JVP leader

Leader of Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna Somawansa Amarasinghe has said, the doors are still open for those who left the party. However, he added the party will not pardon those who mislead the members of the JVP. Somawansa Amarasinghe stated this while addressing the ceremony held at Viharamahadevi open air theatre this evening (13) to commemorate the founder of the party Rohana Wijeweera and its fallen comrades. Speaking further he added that the heritage of Rohana Wijeweera lies within only the JVP.
Meanwhile, the dissident group of the JVP also held a separate ceremony to commemorate its founder and the fallen comrads at the Sugathadasa Indoor stadium this evening(13). Addressing the gathering its political council member Senadheera Gunathilake said a new begining has been marked in the leftist movement in Sri Lanka. He added, it will engage in a new political journey to make the hopes of the fallen comrads a reality.
