India- Sri Lanka Second Test Drawn-Report

The second Test between India and Sri Lanka ended in a high-scoring draw on July 30 after the bat dominated the ball on a feather bed wicket for five days. India posted their second-highest total ever when they made 707 in reply to Sri Lanka’s mammoth first innings score of 642-4 declared on the fifth morning at the Sinhalese Sports Club.
The total was just 19 runs short of India’s Test record of 726-9 declared against the same opposition at the Brabourne stadium in Mumbai last year. Sri Lanka – 642/ 4 dec ( Sangakkara 219, Paranavitana 100, Mahela 174) and 129/3 ; India- 707 (Tendulkar 203)-JNW
