New Faces From Northern Province For The Elections

Some of the leading figures in the northern province who are not in active politics are going to contest in the northern province at the upcoming parliamentary election. It seems more than high leading Tamil political parties are going to contest northern province in this election,. Already EPDP, TNA, TULF, and PLOTE have said they are going to contest the election. These parties have already started selecting their candidates.
Apart from this UPFA, UNP and some of the national political parties are also going to contest northern province in this election. Northern province voters have the chance to elect 15 parliamentarians from the province. Nine parliamentarians from Jaffna district and rest of the six from Wanni district.
For this parliamentary election, nominations are to be accepted between February 19th to 26th. The parliamentary election is scheduled to be held on the 8th of April.
