Postal Trade Unions call off their strike

Postal Trade Unions have called off their strike from 12 noon today(21), after the discussions with the Minister of Postal Services Jeewan Kumaratunga. Around 2,200,000 letters and registered mail had been piled up at the Colombo Central Postal Exchange as a result of the trade union action, representative of the Postal Trade Unions Association D.M. Hettiarachchi said. “They will distributed as quickly as possible”, he added. Admissions of the forthcoming G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination will also be distributed to the candidates without a delay, Hettiarachchi stated.
