President congratulates Australia for winning the bid for 2018 CG

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has congratulated Australia for winning the bid for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. He has expressed the belief that the Sri Lankan sports personnel will bring honour to the country by showing their talents at the Commonwealth Games that will be held in Gold Coast city of Australia in 2018. President Rajapakse also said that Sri Lanka was able to present a very confident bid to gain the hosting rights of the Commonwealth Games and has acknowledged the support given by various parties including the private sector.
