Private bus strike called off

The private bus operators have called off the bus strike that was scheduled to be carried out from midnight tonight(14). They reached this decision at a discussion held with Minister C.B. Ratnayake today.
A revision of private bus fares will not take place at present, the minister said. A fuel subsidy could also not be granted to them at the moment. However, the government is ready to provide number of relief to the private bus industry from the forthcoming budget, he added.
