Rural students dominate Year Five Scholarship Exam.

Most of the Colombo Schools were disappointing this year Year Five Scholarship Examination results. According to Examination Department’s reports there is only one student from leading school in Colombo city is among the 20 students who scored the highest marks at the Year Five Scholarship Exam.

Examinations Department chief Mr. Anura Edirisinghe says this is a special feature of this year’s exam results. The Department has declared 144 as the pass mark of this year. Jayawardena Vidanaarachchige Promod Dilshan of Ruhunu Maha Vidyalaya in Beliatta in the Hambantota District was received the highest marks of 196 in the Sinhala medium.

Logeshwaran Sri Karshan of Jaffna College in Vadukkodai recorded the highest marks of 192 in Tamil medium. Mr. Anura Edirisinghe says that the cut off points for the leading schools will be announced shortly.
