Many Hollywood icons, like Tom Cruise and Clint Eastwood, have transformed into real-life heroes by stepping in and taking appropriate action when called upon.
Dev Patel, the star of “Slumdog Millionaire,” recently made headlines when he attempted to halt a stabbing at an Australian gas station.

Despite Patel’s attempts to defuse the situation, a couple became involved in an altercation that resulted in the lady stabbing the man in the chest. Until the police showed there, the actor remained with the subject.

According to 7NEWS, the woman was detained and charged with aggravated assault while the male was rushed to the hospital.

A spokesman for Patel told 7NEWS that Dev “acted on his natural instinct to try and de-escalate the situation and break up the fight.” Fortunately, the group was successful in doing so, and they stayed on the scene to make sure that the police and ultimately the ambulance arrived.

MARK CRUISE

Numerous occasions, Tom Cruise has intervened to rescue lives.

In 1996, the yacht that the “Top Gun” actor saved five people from caught on fire. While on vacation in Capri, Italy, with his then-wife Nicole Kidman, Cruise acted quickly.

Cruise simply “did what any decent person would do,” according to his representative at the time, who spoke to People magazine. “I hope Tom Cruise is close by if I ever get into trouble.”

Cruise saw a woman being struck by a car that year. The actor accompanied the woman to the hospital after having a bystander dial 911. She sustained rib bruises and a broken leg. When Cruise realized she had no insurance, she paid her hospital fees.

According to accounts, the “Mission: Impossible” star is also credited with preventing two guys from being mugged and saving the lives of young fans who were about to be crushed during a premiere appearance.

While on vacation in the British Virgin Islands in 2011, Kate Winslet is credited with saving the life of Virgin Group founder Richard Branson’s mother.

A fire broke out inside the house at around 4 a.m., waking up Winslet and about 20 other visitors, according to accounts. Branson’s mother, who was 90 years old at the time, was carried out to safety by the “Titanic” actor.

“My 90-year-old mother can walk, but the main goal was to expedite the process. In any case, she was fantastic. She snatched her up into her arms and hurried them out of the house “Branson at the time told The Telegraph.

“When I spoke with her, she compared it to being on a movie set where you keep waiting for the words “cut,” but they never do. She found herself in a scenario that was rather unreal as a result.”

DICAPRIO, LEONARDO

In 2020, Leonardo DiCaprio, who starred alongside Kate Winslet in “Titanic,” rescued a man who had fallen off a cruise ship. When DiCaprio learnt that the cruise ship was looking for a passenger, he was on vacation close to St. Bart’s.

DiCaprio assisted along with his fellow passengers, who included girlfriend Camila Morrone. According to E! News, the group found the man, who had been treading water for 11 hours, and brought him back to safety.

KRASINSKI, JOHN

As a young adult, John Krasinski once helped save a woman who had been caught in a riptide.

While he was residing in Costa Rica, John Krasinski assisted in preserving a woman’s life. After the woman was carried away by a “insane riptide,” the “The Office” star sprang into action.

In a March 2018 interview with Playboy, the actor recalled, “One of the locations I went was this wonderful beach called Manuel Antonio that I didn’t realize had an unbelievable riptide.” “This Costa Rican girl and an American guy were swimming right next to me while I was swimming there; this is a story I have never shared with anyone. We were knee-deep in the water. I briefly submerged myself, and when I surfaced, he was screaming uncontrollably. The girl had traveled 150 yards in three seconds flat.”

“I decided not to ask anyone at that time. Nobody was available to assist me. I simply went out and made an effort to save her “He remembered. “Then, of course, I was in a crosscurrent with her when I finally got out there. While Sarah George was climbing the 11,106-foot Table Mountain in 2000, the “Indiana Jones” actor rescued her. She was transported to a more level area by George’s other hikers as Ford pulled up in his Bell 407.

He was sporting a cowboy hat and a T-shirt, George reportedly told ABC News. “He didn’t resemble anyone I had ever seen before.”
She said, “I can’t believe I puked in Harrison Ford’s chopper.”
The next year, Ford also saved a 13-year-old Boy Scout who had become lost in a woodland close to Wyoming’s Yellowstone National Park.

The boy’s mother told the Associated Press, “Cody said the kids asked if he got an autograph and he answered, No, but I got a hug and a handshake, and that’s better than an autograph.

THERESA LAWRENCE

In 2012, Jennifer Lawrence helped a woman who happened to collapse outside the “Hunger Games” star’s California home. The actress waited with the “juvenile female” until help arrived, according to reports.

“The 911 call came in around 6:41 p.m. on Monday evening. Jennifer Lawrence and some other locals helped a juvenile female who appeared to have been drinking and was outside an apartment building,” Sgt. Richard Lewis of the Santa Monica Police Department told US Weekly at the time.

“Miss Lawrence and several others waited beside the female until the police and paramedics arrived. It was not serious, and the female will be OK.”

RYAN GOSLING

A British journalist’s life was once saved by Ryan Gosling after he narrowly avoided walking into oncoming traffic.

Laurie Penny later wrote about the incident, “I didn’t remember to glance the appropriate direction. “I was about to get hit by a car until an actor happened to be passing. I expressed gratitude. That ended the matter. Ryan Gosling just so happened to be the actor.”

EASTWOOD, CLINT

John started to choke while munching on an appetizer. Eastwood “saved {the CEO’s} life” by doing the Heimlich maneuver on him.

John remembered to ESPN, “I was sipping water, eating these small appetizers, tossed down a piece of cheese, and it just didn’t work.” “I was having trouble breathing as I stared at him. He saved my life by promptly recognizing it.”

John told the Carmel Pine Cone, “I can’t believe I’m 202 pounds and he threw me up in the air three times.

T.I.

In 2010, the rapper T.I. prevented a young guy from killing himself. When T.I. appeared “out of nowhere,” the man was considering jumping off the 22-floor Colony Square building in Atlanta, according to authorities at the time.

The man was sent to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta for a psychological assessment.

The rapper told US Weekly, “I’m having a very difficult, hard time accepting credit for this. “God completed every task. I just arrived. Therefore, I am unable to claim that it was my most valiant deed. It was possibly one of my most spiritual experiences.”

JAIME FOXX

In 2016, a guy was saved by Jamie Foxx after his automobile caught fire following a collision close to the actor’s residence in the Los Angeles region.

The driver struck a “drainage ditch,” rolling the vehicle several times before it caught fire. Foxx sprang into action and freed the man who was trapped inside the car.

At the moment, Foxx told reporters, “I’m not a hero, but had to do something.
Later, the driver was “arrested for driving while intoxicated,” according to the authorities.
