After Rep. Matt Gaetz made fun of a Texas teen, she raised more than $700,000 for abortions.

Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida publicly humiliated political activist Olivia Julianna, 19, after the congressman claimed that women who are obese or ugly shouldn’t be concerned about getting pregnant or having an abortion. After Gaetz made an attempt to humiliate her, she started soliciting money for abortion programs around the nation and has since raised more than $700,000.

Callaghan O’Hare via Getty Images for The Washington Post After asserting that overweight and unattractive women don’t have to worry about getting pregnant or requiring abortions, Florida Representative Matt Gaetz made an attempt to humiliate a teenage girl. Since then, the same girl has helped fund abortion care with almost $700,000.

Olivia Julianna, a 19-year-old political activist, complimented Gaetz for his attack, which she believes was the cause of the donation flurry, and made the offer to send him a bunch of flowers for each $100,000 raised. The monies will be distributed equally to 50 abortion funds around the US after being raised through Gen Z for Change , the charity where Julianna works as a political strategy specialist.

On Saturday night, Gaetz asked, “Why is it that the ladies who have the least chance of becoming pregnant are the ones who are most frightened about having abortions?” during his speech at the Student Action Summit in Tampa, Florida.

He addressed the gathering, “If you look like a thumb, nobody wants to impregnate you.
In a tweet, Julianna responded to the congressman’s remarks.

It has been brought to my attention that Matt Gaetz, an alleged pedophile, has stated that pro-abortion rallies are always led by the “odious… 5’2 350 pound” women that “nobody wants to impregnate.” “I’m 5’11, or 6’4 in heels. I wear them to serve as a reminder of my status to tiny guys like you.”

Gaetz retaliated by posting a picture of Julianna and saying he had hit a nerve.

Julianna claimed that in response to the public criticism, she began raising money for abortion-related causes. And despite their constant verbal sparring on Twitter, which included tweets that have now been shared thousands of times, the young activist has been able to easily surpass each fundraising target.

She had amassed more than $725,000 for abortions as of 2:30 p.m. ET on Thursday.

Gaetz has received criticism for his behavior in the meanwhile. Again, the incident brought adverse attention to an ongoing investigation from 2020 involving the congressman and a number of charges regarding having sex with a minor. Gaetz has refuted the charges leveled against him.
