Alabama College student sexually tortured by an 18-year-old after a robbery and rape: “Unspeakable”

After reportedly raping, robbing, and torturing a college student in south Alabama earlier this month, an 18-year-old is in jail on “extremely serious charges.”

According to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, Elijah Persons knew the woman he is accused of attacking and had arranged to meet her on Tuesday, October 4, in Semmes, which is located about 15 miles northwest of Mobile.

According to investigators, the victim was waiting in her car when a man in a hoodie and bandana entered and raped her with a revolver drawn.

The news source’s statement that “other aspects of this atrocity are horrific” prompted the accusation of sexual torture against Persons.

6 MONTHS LATER, THE CAUSE OF FLORIDA MOTHER CASSIE CARLI’S DEATH WAS DETERMINED TO BE “UNDETERMINED.”

According to deputies, the victim called the sheriff’s office to report what had happened, and during the preliminary inquiry, Persons emerged as a “person of interest.”

After being questioned by the police, having his phone seized, and having a digital forensic study done on it, Persons rapidly became the “sole suspect” in the case.

Deputies were ordered to detain Persons at his place of employment on Friday. When they arrived, he fled, and there was a brief foot chase before he was caught and put into custody.

When an Alabama man was out on bond for a domestic violence charge, he allegedly poured boiling water down the baby’s throat.
Persons is accused of first-degree sodomy, rape, robbery, sexual abuse, and torture, as well as trying to flee and resisting arrest.

According to MCSO Lt. Mark Bailey, “These are pretty significant allegations, particularly of a sexual nature.” ‘We will be seeking for the biggest bond sum available. The D.A.’s Office is the ultimate authority that will request a bond amount, if any.

The fact that Persons opted to flee from investigators on Friday will also be mentioned to the judge, according to Bailey.
