On Wednesday, President Biden traveled to Florida to assess the damage caused by Hurricane Ian. While there, he was overheard laughing in a hot mic conversation with a local official.
The president seemed to be telling Mayor Ray Murphy of Fort Myers Beach, Florida, “No one f—— with a Biden.”
The mayor responded, chuckling, “Yeah, you’re go——- right.
In Fishermans Wharf in Fort Myers, where residences and businesses were destroyed by Hurricane Ian last week, the president and first woman Jill Biden paid a visit.
Alongside Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and first responders, Biden told the crowd, “Today, we have one job and only one duty, and that’s to make sure the folks in Florida get all they need to fully thoroughly recover.
“We wanted to personally let you know that we’re thinking of you and won’t be leaving, so that’s why we’re here today. We won’t go till this is finished.”
BIDEN HAS THE QUALIFICATIONS, BUT REP. CORI BUSH WON’T SAY IF HE’S THE BEST DEMOCRAT TO RUN IN 2024.
As Florida continues to rebuild in the wake of the disaster, Biden extended federal emergency relief he had previously ordered before the storm by 30 days, making the aid package accessible for 60 days.
Gov. DeSantis commended collaboration between officials at all levels of government. DeSantis is a vocal opponent of Biden and may run against him in the 2024 presidential race.
“One of the things you can notice in this response is that we are navigating the red tape. From municipal to state to federal government, up to and even the president, we are reducing red tape “Wednesday, DeSantis added.
The president has already been recorded using a hot mic. In March 2010, while then-President Barack Obama was signing the Affordable Care Act into law, Biden whirled around and said, “This is a big f—-ing thing.”
On the same day that the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries declared they will reduce oil output by 2 million barrels per day, Biden made his remarks in Florida.
