Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, piqued the interest of his more than 100 million Twitter followers on Monday when he suggested building a hyperloop tunnel between the Texas cities of Austin and San Antonio.
The multibillionaire CEO tweeted, “Would be wonderful to develop a (much simplified) Hyperloop demo tunnel between maybe Austin and San Antonio.
Musk’s tweet was a part of a discussion that was talking about his proposal from 2018 to build tunnels under American cities, which one of his companies, The Boring Company, has already implemented successfully in Las Vegas and intends to do so more widely.
Musk tweeted, “Now @boringcompany tunnels are in active usage in Vegas.” “If you’re in town, try it. will grow to connect all important Las Vegas locations, including the airport.”
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has announced that the full self-driving system’s price will increase to $15,000 in September.
According to Musk, a tunnel linking the cities of Austin and San Antonio on Interstate 35 would be the “fastest way” to “travel between one downtown and another using known physics.” The two cities are around 80 miles apart.
Austin and San Antonio were contacted by Fox News Digital for comment, but they did not respond right away.
