Watching “The View”: Hosts lament “depressing” poll results and worry that voters are focusing on the economy.

The hosts of “The View,” Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg, seemed irritated by this week’s episode’s emphasis on the economy and criticism of Democrats ahead of the midterm elections.

Prior to Tuesday’s midterm elections, Behar noted that only 7% of voters considered dangers to democracy to be a significant issue. She then asserted that Republicans would not make any changes.

The Republican Party is content to let companies escape paying taxes for the rest of their lives. They will also eliminate Social Security and kid’s lunches. Why would you vote for them if they are not going to assist you? However, I observe that the situation is imminent and that many individuals are unaware of the risks. She stated, “I find it to be sad and dismal.”

Behar and Sunny Hostin retaliated by questioning co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin on the Republicans’ plan to combat inflation after she claimed the hosts might have a “blind spot” regarding the economy and its direct influence on voters.

On Thursday, Goldberg aired a footage of Rep. Katie Porter, a Democrat from California, and Mike Konczal, the Roosevelt Institute’s director of macroeconomic analysis, discussing inflation on Capitol Hill. Because Porter had identified the “true culprit,” the ABC co-host asserted that Democrats didn’t have a messaging issue when it came to rising prices.

‘Corporate profits’ were the main cause of inflation during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Konczal, who made this statement during a congressional hearing on Wednesday.

When people ask, “Well, why don’t the Democrats get the word out,” one of the things that has been driving me mad is that. I came to the conclusion that the issue does not lie with the Democrats. In response to the soundbite, Goldberg stated that none of this was being covered by the media.

Behar quickly concurred with Goldberg’s assertion that she need to “blame the media.”
They are to blame, said Goldberg. This information ought to be public, but it isn’t.

In the same segment on Thursday, Behar asserted that Republicans have a history of “screwing up the economy” and that they are not any better at allaying financial worries.

“The deficit grows every time the Republicans are in power.” Then the Democrats must intervene to clean everything up and make repairs, but they fail because the electorate’s current state of mind prevents them from understanding what has to be done. That is indeed what is occurring, Behar added.

On Thursday, the hosts of “The View” also spoke with White House journalist April Ryan about her latest book, “Black Women Will Save the World: An Anthem.”

Ryan was questioned by Behar on whether she agreed with Michael Moore’s forecast that the November elections would be a “blue wave,” despite “depressing” recent surveys that suggested the Republicans were gaining ground.

Ryan analyzed state-by-state gubernatorial and Senate contests and praised Stacey Abrams, a Democrat running for governor of Georgia.
