NEW Fox News articles can now be heard on audio! Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida, a Republican, on Thursday dismissed liberal State Attorney Andrew Warren.

During a news conference on Thursday that was streamed on social media, DeSantis made the declaration. DeSantis asserted that Warren has regularly gotten legislation restricting abortion and child sex change surgery enacted by the legislature.

The office of DeSantis released a statement saying, “We are suspending Soros-backed 13th Circuit State Attorney Andrew Warren for disregarding his duties as he swears not to uphold the laws of the state. Florida’s Hillsborough County is covered by the 13th circuit.

According to Florida’s constitution, the governor, not the state attorneys, has the right to veto legislation, according to DeSantis. “We won’t let this disease of disobeying the law take hold in the state of Florida.”

“Having accountability to our system of law and order in order to punish crime is the focus of this, not abortion or any other specific issue. In Hillsborough County, a pattern has emerged where one individual picks and chooses whatever laws he wants to police, “According to his office.
