AFP via Getty Images, Julien de Rosa Following remarks he made about Floyd’s passing on the podcast Drink Champs, the family of George Floyd said Tuesday that they will file a $250 million lawsuit against Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West.
Derek Chauvin was found to have killed George Floyd by repeatedly kneeling on his neck for more than eight minutes, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office. Ye, a guest on the podcast episode from the weekend hosted by DJ EFN and rapper N.O.R.E, advanced the theory that Floyd died from fentanyl use rather than from Chauvin’s negligence.
