After protesters disrupt the ceremony, San Francisco’s district attorney leaves after promising to “establish order.”

After receiving jeers from a crowd of student protesters during a debate on Thursday, the San Francisco district attorney departed the room.
At San Francisco State University, district attorney Brooke Jenkins participated in a discussion with opponents John Hamasaki and Joe Alioto Veronese.
Only “HEINOUS” cases that “shock consciousness” of community will San Francisco’s district attorney charge teenagers as adults.
After around 20 minutes of discussion, a group of student protesters started yelling at Jenkins and waving banners.
According to Jenkins’ campaign, the disturbance lasted for more than ten minutes and forced the security detail to advise the district attorney to depart.

People protested the delayed homicide trial of a police officer who fatally shot suspected carjacker Keita O’Neil in 2017 by chanting “no justice, no peace.”
Others reportedly brandished placards referring to Jenkins’ choice to charge children with especially severe offenses as adults.

Jenkins was appointed as the next district attorney for San Francisco by Mayor London Breed in July, after voters had ousted Boudin due to his liberal policies, which detractors claim gave criminals more latitude.

When Jenkins was sworn in, she promised to “restore” order to the city, and she is currently running for office on that pledge.
